Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey --- Sponsored Event by the Primary Group of Builders


The Primary Group of Builders (PGB) was one of the major sponsors of Tutoring Club Cebu's (TCC) Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey event held last August 27, 2016, Saturday, from 10 am to 9 pm at the Mountain Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu.

Tutoring Club Cebu (TCC) is a U.S. skill-based tutoring service for children at all levels of academic ability, i.e. from elementary to high school. It has branches in Banilad Town Center and Eagle's Nest Condominium in Mandaue City, Cebu. Ms. Jogen P. Mil is the Director of TCC here in the province.

Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey, is Tutoring Club's main event of the year, their first big activity which featured our rich cultural heritage: local fashion, local cuisine, local delicacies, farm products, artistry and handicrafts, Philippine art and photography, Filipino games, music and our colorful festival dances.

There were several elementary, high school and university students who trooped to SM Seaside City to witness the whole day celebration, part of the Buwan ng Wika festivities this month of August. The program consisted of the following: Baybayin Ancient Writing, Larong Pinoy featuring Sepak Takraw, Cebu's Traditional Hilot, Alamat at Pabula, Sipa and Arnis Demo, Painting Exhibit, Art of Hablon, Heritage Mosaic, Linguistic Performances, i.e. Sabayang Pagbikas, Music, Song and Dance.

Representing the Primary Group of Builders were Jemima Rose Jimenez (PSC Head Office), Michelle Salon (PSEFI-SKILLS), Javic Cabalda (PSEFI-SKILLS), Marison Donaire (PSEFI-SKILLS), Francis Gillian Perez (PHI) and Ariel Arriola (PHI). Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, COO of PSEFI-SKILLS, graced the event as she was one of those who opened the festivities in the afternoon, i.e. ribbon-cutting a la Tumbang Preso.  

Other companies that had a booth during this whole day cultural activity were: Engineering for Kids, Dugukan Healing Massage, Turtlele, Kultura, and Amano: Argao's Hablon Fabric.

2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. BJMP Inmates as Scholars of TESDA Technical Training

Under the TESDA’s Bottoms-up Budgeting Program (BuB), the local government of Mandaue in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is currently running free skills training to sixty two (62) female inmates of Mandaue City Jail.The training program will run from December 2017 to March 2018 that will focus in Carpentry NC II, Plaster Concrete Masonry Surface and Install Pre-Cast Balusters and Handrail (leading to Masonry NC II). TESDA is one of the participating agencies that are tasked to ensure the implementation of social development projects as identified at the city/municipal level through the BuB participatory planning and budgeting process. The project aims to provide livelihood skills that will help the communities get more opportunities for employment.
