The 25th Culminating Activity of PSEFI-SKILLS

Cebu City --- Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) held its 25th Culminating Activity last September 16, 2016, Friday, 1-3 pm, at the SKILLS Multipurpose Hall. The special guests of this event were Lt. Col. Meliton C. Reyes, Assistant Chief of Education and Training of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Visayas and Engr. Jerry D. Años, Head of the Manufacturing Department of Primary Structures Corporation (PSC). The trainers who graced the occasion were Engr. Lea Babor and Mr. Dennis Pareja of PSC; Engr. Teddy M. Taray and Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN of PSEFI-SKILLS. Representing the school administration were Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, COO; Dr. Eunice B. Raz, Academic Director, and Engr. Steve Y. Banzon, Technical Training Director.

We had the following number of graduates: Housekeeping NC II -  32 ; Carpentry NC II - 44;
Masonry NC II - 45; Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) Rough Terrain Crane NC II - 17; HEO Tower Crane - 28; HEO Forklift NC II - 10; HEO Hydraulic Excavator NC II - 15.

The ones who gave the testimonial to thank their alma mater were Ms. Aiza Lorenzana, Housekeeping NC II graduate and Private First Class Charles Fabula, Masonry NC II graduate. The successful graduates were all able to get their respective training certificates after the graduation ceremony.

This recent culminating activity was special because of the number of members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who availed of the tech-voc scholarships provided by TESDA which were coursed through PSEFI-SKILLS as its training provider. The AFP graduates were wearing their army uniform during the whole ceremony. Before they shook hands with Lt. Col. Reyes, their Assistant Chief for Education and Training, they give him a well-timed and well-polished salute, much to the delight of everyone present. Our AFP graduates are all set to serve the country under the Engineering Batallion of the AFP.

2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. SKILLS SHS BUWAN NG WIKA CELEBRATION 2018

With this year’s theme,  “Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik” , SKILLS Inc. commemorated the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa in August. It was celebrated with a variety of exciting and fun  “Larong Pinoy”.  Students played different Filipino games every Monday. To showcase the creativity of the senior high school students, a poster making and an essay writing contest were held simultaneously on August 17, 2018.   The month-long celebration culminated in a very festive mood with four major activities on August 31, 2018. In the morning, the “ Paluan ng Palayok ”  played as one of the “ Larong Pinoy ”. Classrooms were embellished with typical decorations to depict the “ Fiesta sa Nayon ”, as each class section prepared an assortment of native Filipino food and competed in the “ Unahan sa Pagkain ng Balut ” contest. A presentation of different Filipino folk dances, “ SKILLS Galing OPM ” contest and the  “Gandang Pinay at Gwapong Pinoy 2018”  was held in the afternoon   to conclude the Buwan ng
