RPN DYKC Kusog Cebu Features PSEFI-SKILLS' Advocacy

Cebu City --- We were fortunate to have been featured once more over at DYKC-Kusog Cebu's Tinubdan sa Kalambuan radio program (675 KHz) of Mr. Jefferson "Ka Jeffrox" Cal and Ms. "A" Angus yesterday, February 9, 2017, Thursday, with Engr. Steve Y. Banzon, our Technical Training Director, and Dr. Eunice B. Raz, Academic Director, as special guests. We were given almost an hour of air time promoting PSEFI-SKILLS' Tech-Voc and Senior High School Programs.

Engr. Banzon and Dr. Raz talked about how students, i.e. Grade 10 finishers, out-of-school youth can avail of free education and training to be a certified tech-voc graduate through PSEFI-SKILLS' Senior High School offerings under the Industrial Arts and Home Economics programs. Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing, Tile Setting are the courses that fall under Industrial Arts, while Housekeeping and Hilot Wellness Massage comprise the courses under Home Economics.

It was stressed that there is no apparent lack of training opportunities when it comes to tech-voc education, especially now that the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) regularly allocates some budget for training and development. Most recently, TESDA has given PSEFI-SKILLS, a TESDA-accredited training and assessment center, slots with free tuition for the following courses: Tower Crane NC II, Forklift NC II, Trainers Methodology I and Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. This is under their Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).

During the radio program, some listeners sent their questions through text, which were readily answered by Engr. Banzon and Dr. Raz. We are hoping that through this radio exposure, we will have reached those listeners in Region VII who have the possibilities of forming part of our studentry, expecially this coming school year, 2017-2018. We enjoin everyone to come visit us here at SKILLS Campus, Old Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City, or call us at 234-6102 and look for Ms. Rhea Cedeño, School Registrar.
