Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training.
Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments.
On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to
practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. The other trainers of this tech-voc course are Mr. Marison Donaire, RN and Mr. Rene Arcenas. They were all trained by foreign international massage trainer, Ms. Janny Berrends of PUM Netherlands.
Hilot Wellness Massage NC II is one of the new courses approved by TESDA. It is to be remembered that "Hilot Wellness" began when the spa industry in the Philippines blossomed in the early years of the 21st century. Hilot Wellness is a holistic way of healing and is aimed at encouraging change in the individual's mind, body and spirit.
It is being hoped that this ongoing Hilot Wellness training will redound to its trainees and graduates' expert acquisition of this skill which will produce competent professionals in the health & wellness industry in the country. It is also seen that Hilot Wellness Massage will soon become a sought-after course and a lucrative field to work in given that the number of people availing of Medical Tourism is on the rise.
