Training for Work Scholarship Program: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Summer Course

We have a new set of students for the Hilot Wellness Massage NC II course, classes of which kicked-off on April 25, 2017, Tuesday, with Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, as instructor. The classes officially end on May 10, 2017, Wednesday. We have a total of twenty-three (23) students enrolled in the program, 9 of whom are Deaf. We are grateful to the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, with Rev. Fr. Donald Abiichinomso as point-person, for making it possible for their Deaf beneficiaries to take part in this training program. Mainstreaming the Deaf in technical-vocational instruction is considered to be a big achievement in any educational institution. DepEd Representative Visits SKILLS Senior High School Training Laboratories

At the Hilot Wellness Massage laboratory We welcomed Mr. John Paul Lesondato, official representative of the Department of Education (DepEd) Region VII here in SKILLS campus last March 22, 2017, in order to conduct an inspection of the school's training laboratories and facilities. This is in line with the Senior High School program which was launched last school year 2016-2017. Mr. Lesondato was toured around the school by Dr. Eunice B. Raz, SKILLS Senior High School (SHS) Academic Director, and Ms. Angiela Castillo, Head Teacher. They visited the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Welding laboratory, the Hilot Wellness Massage facility, the Housekeeping laboratory, and the SHS classrooms. PSEFI-SKILLS' Training Partnership with the Municipality of Argao: Hilot, Housekeeping and Electrical Installation and Maintenance

SKILLS graduates who took up Hilot, Housekeeping and EIM Argao, Cebu --- We had a total of sixty-four (64) successful trainees for the mobile training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II, Housekeeping NC II and Electrical Installation & Maintenance NC II conducted from October to December 2016 in the Municipality of Argao. Our trainees graduated last January 25, 2017, Wednesday at the Argao Sports Complex. With them were other finishers from the Cebu Technological University-Argao who took up Dressmaking, Bread & Pastry Production and Cookery. The graduation was graced by Hon. Stanley S. Caminero, municipal mayor of Argao, together with Mr. Dexter Gimena, Regional Convergence Coordinator of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), representing DSWD's Regional Director Ma. 2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. PUM Netherlands and PSEFI-SKILLS' International Massage Training

Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) was very fortunate to have been granted a senior expert from PUM Netherlands, Ms. Janny Berends, who arrived here in Cebu on the last week of March in order to conduct a Beauty and Wellness Training on International Massage for two weeks. Training started in SKILLS campus last April 4 (Monday) and ended on April 15 (Friday). PUM Netherlands is an international, non-profit organization established by the Dutch Employers' Federation with financial support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They have assisted over 35,000 organizations worldwide through technical experts who have large networks in the business world, plus extensive international experience. The ten-day training covered the following topics: Basic Massage Strokes and Whole Body Massage, International Facial Massage, Bentosa and Bamboo Massage, and Spinal Muscle Test and Analysis.
