Training for Work Scholarship Program: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Summer Course

We have a new set of students for the Hilot Wellness Massage NC II course, classes of which kicked-off on April 25, 2017, Tuesday, with Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, as instructor. The classes officially end on May 10, 2017, Wednesday. We have a total of twenty-three (23) students enrolled in the program, 9 of whom are Deaf. We are grateful to the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, with Rev. Fr. Donald Abiichinomso as point-person, for making it possible for their Deaf beneficiaries to take part in this training program. Mainstreaming the Deaf in technical-vocational instruction is considered to be a big achievement in any educational institution. PSEFI-SKILLS Supported the Global Run for Deaf Women and Children at SM Seaside City Cebu

With Rob Gomm (2nd from left), PADS' Global Run organizer Cebu City --- PSEFI-SKILLS actively supported the Global Run for Persons With Disabilities, organized by the Philippine Accessible Disability Services, Inc. (PADS). Dubbed as, "Break the Silence: Global Run," PADS hosted "approximately 10,000 global change-makers of all abilities and ages to participate in this fun run, in cities around the world," said its press release. In another press release, PADS stated that, "Our goal isn't to break world records. Instead, our goal is to generate a wave of awareness across the globe which will contribute to the eradication of the sexual abuse of Deaf women and children."  Ms. Michelle S. Batch 3 Deaf Scholars Pass Housekeeping NC II Assessment

Batch 3 Deaf trainees on their assessment day Twenty-six (26) Deaf scholars of Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, LINK Center for the Deaf, Welcome Home Foundation, Inc. and Salud Borromeo Foundation, Inc. passed the TESDA assessment for Housekeeping NC II held last November 5, 2016 here in SKILLS Campus. These students comprise the 3rd batch of Deaf scholars since we opened our doors to train Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) 2015. PWD Awareness Celebration 2016 the PSEFI-SKILLS Way

July 6 Seminar: Unlocking Opportunites, Braving the Challenges We had a very busy schedule in this recently concluded month of July as we celebrated the school-wide PWD or Persons With Disabilities Month here in PSEFI-SKILLS, with the theme, "Unlocking Opportunities, Braving the Challenges." The kick-off activity was during the flag ceremony with our Senior High School students last July 4, Monday, wherein the Philippine National Anthem, Doxology, Inspirational Message for the Week delivered by Dr. Maritess H. Requina, our Executive Director, were all accompanied with sign language by our HR Encoder, Jovelyn Ortega. The highlight of our PWD celebration was last July 6, Wednesday, when we had a whole day seminar for our Deaf brethren at the SKILLS Multipurpose Hall.
