Twenty-six (26) Deaf scholars of Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, LINK Center for the Deaf, Welcome Home Foundation, Inc. and Salud Borromeo Foundation, Inc. passed the TESDA assessment for Housekeeping NC II held last November 5, 2016 here in SKILLS Campus. These students comprise the 3rd batch of Deaf scholars since we opened our doors to train Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) 2015.

We would like to congratulate the following students who made it to the Housekeeping NC II Assessment: Gutz Avenido, Marion Reuel Barrientos, Cory Mar Buna, Jessa Cagas, Reyniel Ceniza, Marian Chiong, Russhell de la Victoria, Ronald Eder, Ma. Trina Escamos, Louvynnie Gesta, Ma. Jinky Jomuad, Dannie Ver Macapagal, Warren Montalban, Ritchiel Ouano, Margene Paez, Mike Anthony Perales, Anthony Pescante, Romulo Porral III, Precson Precioso, Randell Quebido, Harradyn Ragasa, Roniel Reyes, Ma. Liza

Decerie Salon, Irene Joy Tan, Mario Angelo Tomongha, and Michelle Villafuerte. Seven successful trainees actually hail from nearby Bacolod City, all scholars of Welcome Home Foundation, Inc. Some parents of these trainees were present during the assessment to give them moral support.

Our Batch 3 scholars are now being placed in the housekeeping departments of various hotel and restaurant establishments, commercial buildings and condominiums in and outside Cebu City. It is with a lot of hope that we work closely together to get employment for this new batch of successful Deaf trainees!

Joint Delivery Voucher Program

It's a hassle-free and friendly partnership program initiated by the Department of Education through D.O. 33 series of 2018 on the Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP). 2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. Training for Work Scholarship Program: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Summer Course

We have a new set of students for the Hilot Wellness Massage NC II course, classes of which kicked-off on April 25, 2017, Tuesday, with Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, as instructor. The classes officially end on May 10, 2017, Wednesday. We have a total of twenty-three (23) students enrolled in the program, 9 of whom are Deaf. We are grateful to the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, with Rev. Fr. Donald Abiichinomso as point-person, for making it possible for their Deaf beneficiaries to take part in this training program. Mainstreaming the Deaf in technical-vocational instruction is considered to be a big achievement in any educational institution.
