Special Feature: Primary Structures' BUILD Program and SKILLS

It is the right of every Filipino to pursue and continue his or her education. Living to its vision of providing globally competent Filipino workers equipped with knowledge and skills, the Primary Group of Builders (PGB) created and established the Bunkhouse Intensive Literacy Development Program or BUILD. Workers of Primary Structures Corporation (PSC) are offered this great program that helps them continue their studies. This is a preparation for students to pass the Accreditation and Equivalency Test and a step closer to their dreams. Employees of the PGB who were not able to finish their studies in basic education (elementary and junior high school) are given the privilege and opportunity to participate and be the beneficiaries of the BUILD program.

Volunteer teachers need patience and determination as each student has a different personality and style of learning. Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, and Ms. Maria Rochelle Cabatingan, both Senior High School teachers in SKILLS, volunteered as teachers and subject reviewers of the BUILD program. They rendered their time to the employees of the different project sites of PGB such as: the Equipment Department Centralyard in Mabolo, Brookridge, Richwood Homes in Compostela, Alegria Palms Dos in Cordova, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo in Canduman, PPC 27 in CLIP Lapu-Lapu City, and PPC 25 in Northpark, Mandaue.

Mr. Donaire was assigned at Brookridge, Banawa, Brgy. Guadalupe while Ms. Cabatingan was at Richwood Homes in Compostela. They have seen the determination and the willingness to learn of the BUILD students in order to pursue their dreams. We salute both students and teachers of the BUILD program.

May the future volunteer teachers of the BUILD program always imbue their lives with the dedication and determination to selflessly teach our less-privileged fellowmen, specifically  those who are working in the construction sector.
