Primary Home Run is a yearly fundraising affair spearheaded by Primary Homes Inc. in cooperation with Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. This year's theme: "Run, Dance and Conquer. Run to Build Their Future" seeks to generate funds to support the Senior High School Program of SKILLS.
The event kicked off at 4am on July 2, 2017, at Cebu Business Park. More than 1,400 runners signed up for the event with the bulk of the participants competing in the three-kilometer, six-kilometer, and twelve-kilometer distance.
Added challenges for this year's runners were a number of obstacles placed along the route. The twelve-kilometer distance runners went uphill with their route’s turning point located near Marco Polo Hotel in Nivel Hills, Lahug. Cash prizes were given to the top three finishers in each distance while non-winners won raffle prizes during the awarding ceremonies.
All Women’s Ultra Marathon (AWUM) champion Lizane Abella, Kenyan runners Abraham Kilimo, Eric Chipseror and Douglas Mwiti as well as the Andrin sisters namely Lovely Fe, Cherry and Jean were among the runners of the Home Run. Proceeds of the run will be used to fund the scholarship program of PSEFI on technical training.
