Trainers Methodology I Culminating Activity



PSEFI-SKILLS would like to Congratulate the twenty-four (24) DepEd Teachers who successfully completed the Trainers Methodology 1 Class from May 7 to May 31, 2018. DepEd Asst. Regional Director, Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, together with DepEd Education Program Supervisor in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) /Technical Vocational Education (TVE) & Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP), Dr. Roland V. Villegas, and Education Specialist, Mr. Robert M. Ragas Jr., graced the TM 1 Culminating Activity held on May 31, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Audio-Visual Room, SKILLS Campus, General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.

Dr. Jimenez hopes that this milestone will fuel enthusiasm and passion among teachers in delivering their classroom instruction more enjoyable for the learners. He was delighted to see what they have accomplished in spite of sleepless nights and sacrifices for being away from their loved ones. He wished them for strength and courage as they face head on the upcoming assessment.   
The trainees were composed of various trades: 6 in Dressmaking NC II; 5 in Bread and Pastry NC II; 3 in Computer System Servicing NC II; 2 in Cookery NC II; 2 in Technical Drafting; 2 in Horticulture NC II; 1 in SMAW NC II; 1 in RAC Servicing NC II; 1 in Electronic Product Assembly and Servicing NC II; and, 1 in Bookkeeping NC II.
The teachers expressed their gratitude to the Department of Education Regional Office and TESDA for giving them the opportunity to be certified to teach a tech-voc course. The same gesture of appreciation was accorded to their TM 1 ‘dramatized’ Trainer, Dr. Robert John Tupas, for his motivation, support and valuable learning he shared throughout the training. One of the teachers tearfully said, ‘without him, we will not be able to complete our portfolio and finish this training. Salamat for pushing us and for believing in what we can accomplish.’

2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. SKILLS SHS BUWAN NG WIKA CELEBRATION 2018

With this year’s theme,  “Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik” , SKILLS Inc. commemorated the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa in August. It was celebrated with a variety of exciting and fun  “Larong Pinoy”.  Students played different Filipino games every Monday. To showcase the creativity of the senior high school students, a poster making and an essay writing contest were held simultaneously on August 17, 2018.   The month-long celebration culminated in a very festive mood with four major activities on August 31, 2018. In the morning, the “ Paluan ng Palayok ”  played as one of the “ Larong Pinoy ”. Classrooms were embellished with typical decorations to depict the “ Fiesta sa Nayon ”, as each class section prepared an assortment of native Filipino food and competed in the “ Unahan sa Pagkain ng Balut ” contest.
