AFOS PLUS Program In-Company Training MOA Signing

The 5th In Company Trainers’ Training, Assessment & Certification was held on August 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 & 28, 2018 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Lahug, Cebu City. Its main objective is to capacitate company staff responsible for conducting training specifically re-training of existing staff, training for new employees, on the job training and training of apprentices and interns.

The activity kicked-off with a MOA signing between SKILLS and partner companies to accommodate In-Company Training of AFOS K-12 Pilot and 1st batch SKILLS SHS graduates who passed the Basic Qualification Certification. Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, PSEFI-SKILLS Chief Operating Officer was present during the MOA signing.

Primary Group of Builders (PGB) was officially represented by the SKILLS Technical Director, Engr. Steve Y. Banzon  as one of the Trainers, Mr. Joseph Earic Yabo of PSC OMD, Ms. Katherine Ann Torralba of Maayo Hotel, and Ms. Bridgette Marie Angcon of CSI as training participants. The said event was also attended by the following companies: J.M. Salera Construction; Sagrada Familia Plumbing Services; and Phoenix Building Systems.

The formal In-Company Trainers’ Training immediately followed which was facilitated       by Master Trainers Steve Banzon (SKILLS), Marlon Valencia (CITE), Bryan Araneta (AFOS), Jeanne    Rivera (AFOS), Yvette Hope Labus (AFOS).
The assessment was conducted last August 28, 2018 by a panel of Certified Assessors namely, Engr. Rudy Mengutia (DMCI), Mr. Libia Chavez (PSCA), Mr. Ramon Santos, Jr. (Dual Tech), and Mr. John Paul Briones (formerly, AFOS).

All the participants successfully passed the training and awarded with certificates during the culminating dinner at Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant in SM City Cebu.

2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. Training for Work Scholarship Program: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Summer Course

We have a new set of students for the Hilot Wellness Massage NC II course, classes of which kicked-off on April 25, 2017, Tuesday, with Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, as instructor. The classes officially end on May 10, 2017, Wednesday. We have a total of twenty-three (23) students enrolled in the program, 9 of whom are Deaf. We are grateful to the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, with Rev. Fr. Donald Abiichinomso as point-person, for making it possible for their Deaf beneficiaries to take part in this training program. Mainstreaming the Deaf in technical-vocational instruction is considered to be a big achievement in any educational institution.
