Primary Homes, Inc. (PHI) Launches Home Run 2016

Primary Homes, Inc. (PHI) organized a mini-press conference held at the lecture room of SKILLS' Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) yesterday, March 30, 2016, Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 pm, launching Home Run 2016, a benefit fun run for the scholars of PSEFI-SKILLS. The event was well-attended by Cebu's mediamen as all the newspaper dailies were duly represented.

PSEFI-SKILLS' COO, Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, first gave an introduction about the thrusts and advocacies of Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI), the corporate foundation of the Primary Group of Builders (PGB). Mrs. Liu explained that PSEFI is bent to make a dent in Cebu province, and in the country as a whole, by promoting and implementing various poverty reduction initiatives. This is being done now through the provision of technical-vocational scholarship opportunities, in partnership with TESDA, for the construction (Carpentry, Masonry, Scaffold Erection, etc.) and hospitality
(Housekeeping, Household Services, etc.) trades being offered to poor but deserving individuals. She recounted some success stories of graduates who are now earning for their families and are doing well in their respective fields, enjoying gainful employment both here and abroad. Some lady graduates of our heavy equipment training programs in backhoe, bulldozer, forklift operations, etc. were present during the presscon. They were among the first batch of beneficiaries of PSEFI's scholarship programs and all are now reliable employees of Primary Structures Corporation. Also at the presscon were three (3) deaf-mute or hearing-impaired scholars of PSEFI-SKILLS. all graduates of Housekeeping NC II. Skills training for the deaf is one of the advocacies of PSEFI-SKILLS, in partnership with the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf and LINK Center for the Deaf-Manila.

Home Run 2016's event details were then presented by race organizer, Mr. Joel Baring. He described what to expect during the race which is composed of 3 categories: 3K, 6K and 12K. The race itinerary will necessarily pass Primary Homes' projects in the city. Ms. Gladys Faye Cabañero, Senior Marketing Supervisor of Primary Homes, Inc., facilitated the program of the presscon. A tour of SKILLS Campus' Welding laboratory, Construction and Hospitality Training Center took place after the activity.

Home Run 2016 is set on April 23, 2016, Saturday, 4:00 am, at Sumilon Road, Cebu Business Park (beside the 2Quad Building). Registration fees, inclusive of race singlet, bib, giveaways and snacks, are as follows: 3K - P 250, 6K - P 350, and 12K - P 450. Winners will receive medals and cash prizes. All the proceeds of the event will go to the scholars of PSEFI-SKILLS.

2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. SKILLS SHS BUWAN NG WIKA CELEBRATION 2018

With this year’s theme,  “Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik” , SKILLS Inc. commemorated the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa in August. It was celebrated with a variety of exciting and fun  “Larong Pinoy”.  Students played different Filipino games every Monday. To showcase the creativity of the senior high school students, a poster making and an essay writing contest were held simultaneously on August 17, 2018.   The month-long celebration culminated in a very festive mood with four major activities on August 31, 2018. In the morning, the “ Paluan ng Palayok ”  played as one of the “ Larong Pinoy ”. Classrooms were embellished with typical decorations to depict the “ Fiesta sa Nayon ”, as each class section prepared an assortment of native Filipino food and competed in the “ Unahan sa Pagkain ng Balut ” contest.
