Cebu City --- Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) and Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation-Philippines (BTCHP), are now partners in furthering humanitarian work in the country through education and training opportunities for the poor and the marginalized in society. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between these two foundations was signed on September 26, 2016 here in Cebu City.
Engr. Steve Y. Banzon. PSEFI-SKILLS' Technical Training Director, went to Manila in October and December 2016 to visit the training facilities of Tzu Chi Foundation. He was with Primary Structures Corporation's (PSC) Manufacturing Department Head, Mr. Jerry D. Años.
Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (BTCHP) is a non-profit, volunteer-based and spiritual organization that aims to contribute to better social and community services. It is committed to giving material aid, inspiring love and humanity in both the givers and receivers. It has dedicated its efforts in the field of charity, medicine, education, environment protection and the promotion of humanistic values and community volunteerism, among others. Tzu Chi Foundation has agreed to partner with PSEFI-SKILLS for the setting up of the technical-vocational training programs on construction-related trades.
The BTCHP training center is located at Sta. Mesa, Manila. They have a recycling facility and a garments/sewing livelihood center, among others.
PSEFI-SKILLS has committed itself to provide technical assistance for the running of some tech-voc programs of BTCHP, particularly helping in the aspect of structural design, layout, specifications of the facility, tools and equipment. It will take care of providing trainers, conduct their training, national competency assessment, and conduct a bi-annual audit to ensure quality delivery of the BTCHP training center.
Tzu Chi Foundation is represented by Mr. Alfredo T. Li, Chief Executive Officer, while PSEFI-SKILLS is represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Paulette D. Liu.
