More than twenty (20) parents and students from various public high schools, i.e. Lahug Night High School, Zapatera National High School, etc. all over Cebu came to familiarize themselves about SKILLS' technical-vocational courses. PSEFI-SKILLS has the following course offerings for the Senior High School Program implementation come June this year: Industrial Arts: Carpentry NC II, Masonry NC II, Scaffold Erection NC II and Reinforced Steel Bar Installation NC II. Home Economics: Household Services NC II and Housekeeping NC II. All these courses will prepare the students to become highly skilled workers and land them a good job not just here in the country but abroad. This is made possible by the NC II certificate which they will be eligible to receive from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as soon as they pass the

assessment exams in the course they have chosen.

After the orientation, the parents and students were toured at the Welding Laboratory and Construction Workshop Areas by Mr. Rene B. Arcenas, Head Trainer. A visit to the Hospitality Training Center (HTC) then followed with Ms. Juliet Labora, Housekeeping Trainer, guiding the facility tour. All the parents remarked that they are fortunate to have attended the first orientation since they have seen for themselves how it will be like when their children start schooling here in SKILLS. What is more, they took note of the benefits of studying tech-voc for two years, highlighting the employment opportunities that await the students soon after graduation.

Another orientation for parents is set on February 27, 2016, Saturday. This time, we are expecting parents from Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu to attend the said activity.

PSEFI-SKILLS hopes to widen its reach in providing quality instruction and training in the construction and hospitality sectors through the Senior High School Program. The succeeding weeks will be very busy for us as we step up in our efforts to promote our technical-vocational courses in all the public high schools here in Cebu.
