PSEFI-SKILLS Prepares for the Senior High School Program Implementation this AY 2016-2017

PSEFI-SKILLS' Senior High School trainers

Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI), through its technical-vocational training and assessment center, the School of Knowledge for Industrial Labor, Leadership and Service (SKILLS), is currently holding the Training of Teachers (ToT) for our first batch of Senior High School (SHS) personnel here in SKILLS campus. The training started last February 3, Wednesday, and will be ending tomorrow, February 19, Friday.

Dr. Bryant C. Acar, PSEFI-SKILLS Academic Director, is the overall facilitator for this specialized training. He introduced some salient points in the proper implementation of the SHS program come June this year. This K-12 Plus Project will be instrumental in achieving the nation's vision of a high school graduate. It is hoped that through this program, graduates will possess the competencies and skills relevant to the job market, and at the same time, be prepared very well for higher education.

The Senior High School Curriculum has eight (8) Learning Areas: Languages, Humanities, Communication, Mathematics, Philosophy, Science, Social Science, P.E. and Health. It also has four (4) tracks: Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, Sports, and Arts and Design. PSEFI-SKILLS is operating under the technical-vocational track, with Industrial Arts (Carpentry, Masonry, Reinforced Steel Bar Installation and Scaffold Erection) and Home Economics (Housekeeping and Household Services) as main course offerings.

PSEFI-SKILLS welcomes its new set of trainers: Dr. Bobby M. Cabangon, Assistant Academic Director, Dr. Vivian Vizcarra, Head Teacher, James Allan Sayson, Student Affairs Officer, Annaliza Padayao (Social Studies), Angeila Castillo (Filipino), Vellen Delfin (English), Maria Rochelle Cabatingan (Math), Apollo Baccol, and Marison Donaire. Joining the training are some of our current trainers and staff: Rhea Cedeño, School Registrar, Marben Manabat, Scholarship and Training Officer, Javic Cabalda, Rene Arcenas (Welding Laboratory), and Juliet Labora (Hospitality Training Center).

Joint Delivery Voucher Program

It's a hassle-free and friendly partnership program initiated by the Department of Education through D.O. 33 series of 2018 on the Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP). This will provide a lot of assistance to our national high school students specifically the senior high school who would like to experience the actual laboratory equipment and world-class facilities by using the state-of the-art technology at the Technical Vocational Institutions (TVI) like SKILLS, Inc. Senior high school students will be taught holistically that includes technical knowledge, sufficient skills and well-rounded attitude as they prepare themselves for the real world of work in the industry. 2017: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Training for Senior High School Students

Cebu City --- We started the new year 2017 with two groups undergoing extensive training in Hilot Wellness Massage NC II. Our Grade 11 Senior High School students and the scholars of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kicked-off the year with lectures, practical demonstration and on-the-job training about Hilot Wellness. Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN, is the one on top of this tech-voc training. Our DSWD scholars set-up their Hilot Wellness facility in two venues: Circa 1900-Casa Dos, a restaurant located in Sanjercasville, Lahug, Cebu City, and at 2 Quad Building in Cebu Business Park. The student-trainees will be giving free massage to the guests, clients, employees of the said establishments. On the one hand, our Grade 11 students will need more time to practice Hilot skills in the Wellness Laboratory of the Hospitality Training Center here in SKILLS. Training for Work Scholarship Program: Hilot Wellness Massage NC II Summer Course

We have a new set of students for the Hilot Wellness Massage NC II course, classes of which kicked-off on April 25, 2017, Tuesday, with Mr. Marison Donaire, RN, as instructor. The classes officially end on May 10, 2017, Wednesday. We have a total of twenty-three (23) students enrolled in the program, 9 of whom are Deaf. We are grateful to the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf, with Rev. Fr. Donald Abiichinomso as point-person, for making it possible for their Deaf beneficiaries to take part in this training program. Mainstreaming the Deaf in technical-vocational instruction is considered to be a big achievement in any educational institution.
