The 25th Culminating Activity of PSEFI-SKILLS

Cebu City --- Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) held its 25th Culminating Activity last September 16, 2016, Friday, 1-3 pm, at the SKILLS Multipurpose Hall. The special guests of this event were Lt. Col. Meliton C. Reyes, Assistant Chief of Education and Training of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Visayas and Engr. Jerry D. Años, Head of the Manufacturing Department of Primary Structures Corporation (PSC). The trainers who graced the occasion were Engr. Lea Babor and Mr. Dennis Pareja of PSC; Engr. Teddy M. Taray and Mr. Marben C. Manabat, RN of PSEFI-SKILLS. Representing the school administration were Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, COO; Dr. Eunice B. Raz, Academic Director, and Engr. Steve Y. Banzon, Technical Training Director. PSEFI-SKILLS Celebrates Buwan ng Wikang Filipino

The Filipino Department of SKILLS' Senior High School organized a month-long celebration highlighting the month of August as National Language Month. We would like to commend Mrs. Angiela Castillo, head teacher, with Mr. Marison Donaire, PEHM teacher, for being on top of the different activities which ran the whole month of August. Last August 31, 2016, we had a whole day celebration here in SKILLS campus where the students played Filipino games, showcased Filipino food via Barrio Fiesta over lunch, and participated in different competitions: Sabayang Pagbigkas, Lakambini at Lakan, Katutubong Sayaw and Filipino Trivia interspersed in the program. Our COO, Mrs. Paulette D. Liu, graced the event and witnessed the different talents of our Senior High School students from the following troops: Sage, Lagundi, Thyme and Basil. Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey --- Sponsored Event by the Primary Group of Builders

The Primary Group of Builders (PGB) was one of the major sponsors of Tutoring Club Cebu's (TCC) Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey event held last August 27, 2016, Saturday, from 10 am to 9 pm at the Mountain Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu. Tutoring Club Cebu (TCC) is a U.S. skill-based tutoring service for children at all levels of academic ability, i.e. from elementary to high school. It has branches in Banilad Town Center and Eagle's Nest Condominium in Mandaue City, Cebu. Ms. Jogen P. Mil is the Director of TCC here in the province. Lakbay Lahi: A Heritage Journey, is Tutoring Club's main event of the year, their first big activity which featured our rich cultural heritage: local fashion, local cuisine, local delicacies, farm products, artistry and handicrafts, Philippine art and photography, Filipino games, music and our colorful festival dances. Jobstart Philippines Partners with Primary Structures Corporation and PSEFI-SKILLS

Jobstart Philippines, a program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) Cebu , has partnered with Primary Structures Corporation (PSC) and SKILLS. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed today, August 13, 2016, here in SKILLS Campus. Jobstart Philippines is a collaboration between DOLE, the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Canada. Partnering with the private sector, Jobstart Philippines helps employers meet their manpower needs with well-prepared, talented, and enthusiastic young men and women. Mrs. Paulette D. PWD Awareness Celebration 2016 the PSEFI-SKILLS Way

July 6 Seminar: Unlocking Opportunites, Braving the Challenges We had a very busy schedule in this recently concluded month of July as we celebrated the school-wide PWD or Persons With Disabilities Month here in PSEFI-SKILLS, with the theme, "Unlocking Opportunities, Braving the Challenges." The kick-off activity was during the flag ceremony with our Senior High School students last July 4, Monday, wherein the Philippine National Anthem, Doxology, Inspirational Message for the Week delivered by Dr. Maritess H. Requina, our Executive Director, were all accompanied with sign language by our HR Encoder, Jovelyn Ortega. The highlight of our PWD celebration was last July 6, Wednesday, when we had a whole day seminar for our Deaf brethren at the SKILLS Multipurpose Hall. Southwestern University-PHINMA Invites PSEFI-SKILLS for Senior High School Career Orientation Talk Held at Aznar Coliseum

Ms. Mitziel Toledo (holding the framed certificate) at SWU-Phinma's Aznar Coliseum with Grade 11 students of the tech-voc track PSEFI-SKILLS' Senior High School Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Mitziel Toledo, represented the foundation last August 5, 2016, Friday, 1-5 pm, to be the main speaker for the Career Orientation Talk organized by Southwestern University-PHINMA for its Senior High School - Grade 11 students. Dubbed as "Know Your Career," the activity was held at SWU-PHINMA's Aznar Coliseum. SWU-PHINMA's Placement Manager, Ms. Jo C. Cartalla, spearheaded the event which was meant to enlighten the technical-vocational track candidates of their Senior High School program. PSEFI-SKILLS Celebrates the 20th Year of the League of Corporate Foundations in Manila

PSEFI-SKILLS, one of the newest members of the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF), joined in the 20th year LCF celebration in Manila last July 13-15, 2016, actively participating in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo and Conference. LCF, a network of over 80 grant-making corporate foundations and corporations, marked its 20th anniversary and commitment to achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) at its annual expo on July 14-15 held at the Rizal Ballroom A and B of Makati Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City. With the theme, "Co-Creating the Future through CSR," the 15th CSR Expo and Conference was both a celebration and call to action for the local business community to support the SDGs adopted by world leaders at a United Nations summit last year. The SDGs are 17 national government agendas to promote dignity, equality and prosperity for all people everywhere over the next 15 years.
